EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE FOR ORGANIZATIONAL EXCELLENCE

CII Institute of Quality is pleased to announce three- day programme on “ Emotional Intelligence for Organizational Excellence” on 23 – 25 July 2008 at New Delhi.

Introduction
In a fiercely competitive world, organizations are constantly looking for fresh insights & making endeavor to improve their skills and competence to acquire and maintain the competitive edge. While technology, resources and machinery can be managed with relative ease, the people variable remains the focal point for business leadership. Research indicates that mere possession of high IQ does not guarantee superior performance and success. There is definite evidence to suggest that Emotional Intelligence plays a crucial role in creating a winning edge. It has significance in dealing with customers/clients, suppliers, followers and in developing conflict free enthusiastic work environment. Emotional Intelligence is required by leaders in all areas of operation.

Faculty Profile: 

Major General N K DHIR 
Major General N K Dhir is an Engineer, a textile technologist and an M. Tech in systems and management from IIT Delhi. He has had three years research experience in the field of “Organizational Effectiveness” at IIT New Delhi.
 
An alumnus of National Defence Academy Khadakvasla, he was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers of Indian Army in Dec.1965. He saw action in SHAKARGARH sector in INDO – PAK war of 1971.
 
He was selected for Quality Assurance assignment in Defence, where he made his mark and served for 27 years holding various key appointments. He is a member of the BIS Committee on Quality Management Systems and has represented India at the ISO meeting held at Bucharest (Romania) in 2003. He was convener for the panel constituted for formulation of an Indian Standard on QMS – Requirements for Service Quality by Public Service Organizations, IS – 15700;2005. National Registration Board for Personnel & Training a constituent of Quality Council of India has appointed him as Assessor for Management and IS: 15700 related courses.
 
He was Director, Defence Institute of Quality Assurance, Bangalore, and later Director (Policy, Planning and Training) at the HQ DGQA. He is the founder Director of National Academy for Training and Development (NATAD) – an institution under the aegis of Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD). He is a member of the Quality Council of India Committee on National Quality Campaign in Education.
 
He was a member of the Board of Studies of Punjab Technical University for their B Tech (TQM) Course. He is a visiting faculty at IP University, Delhi for MBA Course.
 
He is an acknowledged international trainer having conducted numerous workshops/programs on subjects as diverse as “Quality Management” to “Operational Excellence” to “Developing Winning Edge for Leaders” to ‘Train the Trainer”. He has done extensive work in the field of “Emotional Intelligence for Organizational Excellence” and has developed a comprehensive training program on this subject. Over 3000 senior officers and managers from Armed forces, Private, Public Sector, Govt and other organizations have been trained by him so far. He also conducted a Pre-Conference workshop at 33rd IFTDO World Conference.
 
He is a speaker at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration Mussourie and College of Defence Management, Secundarabad. He was awarded “Kanpur Ratna” by Conference of Intellectuals for his outstanding contributions. He has been regularly conducting in-house training programmes for various organizations. Some of these are Reliance Industries, Grasim, NTPC, NHPC, SJVN, Mazagon Docks, MishraDhatu Nigam,ONGC, LIC, BIS , RBI, Min of Defence to name a few.

He is a past National Champion in Yachting and holds a blue in gliding from College of Military Engineering, Pune.

Delegate fee is non-refundable or adjustable against any other programme of CII.
