We are pleased to inform that ASSOCHAM jointly with Directorate General of Service Tax (DGST), Ministry of Finance is organizing a high profile Seminar on “Service Tax” & Interactive Session on Friday, 21st December 2007, at 3.00 p.m. at Hotel Hilton Towers, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

Shri P. Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance has very kindly agreed to grace the occasion with his esteemed presence.

Shri P.C. Jha, Member (Central Excise & Service Tax), CBEC, Shri G.V. Naik, DG, DGST, Mumbai, Shri P.K. Sinha, Additional Director, DGST, Mumbai along with other Senior Officials from Ministry of Finance will also be available at the seminar to discuss various issues relating to service tax and offer their expert views and perceptions. The seminar is addressed towards CEO’s, CFO’s of Indian corporates, Chartered Accountants, Advocates and Company Secretaries in industry and in practice.

The objective of the seminar is to focus on the issues related to various industries / service providers which require consideration of the Government in the field of Service Tax. On this occasion the Hon’ble Finance Minister shall be releasing the “Service Tax – FAQ” brought out by the DGST.

Since the seats are limited and shall be made available on first-cum-first served basis, you are requested to register yourself and also nominate your colleagues for the same as early as possible. Participation fee @ Rs. 2,500/- per delegate is being charged to partially defray the cost of the seminar. The participation shall be confirmed on e-mail: [email protected] A copy of programme contents and registration form is attached for your kind reference.We also welcome your issues / suggestions regarding Service Tax, so that they could be included in the material which will be sent to the officials of Ministry of Finance before the Seminar.
